....Continued...

Well, I did have the meeting Saturday. I was thinking over and over of what I was going to say. If I was going to get mean or yell...cry...just everything was going through my head.

I went out when all the maids were pretty much here, except for two. Well, it turns out that especially one that needed to be here, the one that is doing it...didn't show up. Go figure. I was pretty mad and I kind of showed it when I found out when someone called her phone and it was turned off. So I started without her...and got the little things out of the way that all of them needed to work on...then came the big one. I said, "Now for the not-so-fun thing."

I told them that my boss--your boss, the owner, came to me the other day and said that someone stole money from his room. A lot were shocked and I was looking at all the faces trying to read expressions. Lets just say it got really quiet and they could tell that I was pretty upset. I did start tearing up (when I am upset, mad, I tend to cry--I REALLY dis-like this about me) and told them, "I am your boss. I need to do my job. I know if I fire this one person, if it happens again, that some are going to get mad and I am just going to have to not care. I can not do this anymore or be walked on. I can not let this happen EVER again."

I told them that I try to be as friendly as a boss as I can. Be nice to everyone. Give everyone a chance-- but if I had someone take advantage of this job and the situation...I'm going to have to get over being friendly and caring what people think of me and fire whoever is doing this. I also mentioned that I pretty much know who it is; which probably would have scared the socks off of the one--IF SHE WAS THERE. I had all the maids and office girls sign a paper saying if anything ends up missing in a room that they are responsible, especially if proven guilty or happens more than once if they are in the room...and they WILL be fired.

I also mentioned that Fred was going to fire both that were in the room that day, even if the one did not do anything. It is not fair that someone is putting EVERYONE'S job in jeopardy. I told everyone that they should be grateful for their jobs. Especially with what is going on in the economy right now. Thing are getting hard with jobs and money. We should all be grateful for our checks and that there is money to pay us for working.

It was pretty frustrating to not have the one there, but I told her about the meeting on Monday when she walked in. She did not say one word when I said, "Someone stole from the owners room and was going to fire them." She didn't look at me or say ONE word; which she always say something to me...she just shook her head and I handed her the paper that she needed to sign.

I am very happy that this is over with. I am going to keep my eyes and ears open. I have put it in my head that I am going to fire this one if it does happen again---I HAVE GIVEN ALL A FAIR WARNING. I know that a lot are innocent--but there is one that is not.

THE PERKS OF BEING A BOSS...

WhY mE??

DESSERT ANYONE??
So...I was sitting in the office after all the maids left yesterday. Declan was taking a nap. I was relaxing for a bit. My boss, the owner, walks in and says, "Who cleaned my room?" I was not too happy automatically because something was obviously wrong. I said, "Why?" He said, "Well, someone took some of my money." GREAT!!!! Yea for me right? I have a employee who is stealing, but not just from any person, the MAIN BOSS/OWNER. The one that pays ya, and allows you to work on his property. The one who does not let things slide easy, at all. Trust me, I have seen him with the employees over at the Bowling Alley and to put it plain, mess up once you are gone.

He said he noticed some missing awhile back, and thought nothing of it. Maybe he's getting old and used it and just didn't remember--so he said. Well, apparently something is going on. He made sure when he walked out of the room that he counted how many cups were in his room with change in them, and one turned up missing when he came back. He showed me where it was taken. I was so embarrassed, shocked, nervous because I would have to confront this situation...and maybe even fire someone.

He was pretty calm about it, it was just coins he said-- but the fact is I have something going on. I have someone being pretty dis-honest. So I told him who was in his room. I told him something did happen awhile back. It was pretty close to the same situation. A customer came in and said that $6.00's in coins was taken out of his cup. He was not mad--he just wanted to inform me. So I made a mental note and also wrote down the situation and who was in that room that day.

Well, one of those girls is gone and no longer works her because she moved. But the other one is still here and it happened again--same situation. AHHH!!! WHY? WHY? WHY?!!!! So, it is obvious right? So, I have pretty solid proof that it this one certain person--since it has happened more than once with the same girl. Fred told me to FIRE THEM. I was pretty upset. I told him the situation that would happen, if I did.

I have many Hispanic employees. I respect and appreciate them all immensely. They help me out in many ways. But at the same time, I help them out and I know I let a lot get away with too much and let things slide more than any boss should or does. I can easily consider myself a "push-over".

If I fire this certain one. Things are going to get ugly, lets say, and I will have more than likely two more quit because of this one getting fired. I have to realize that if an employee is being dis-honest and is not trust worthy and continues this--I can't have them here. Plain and simple.

So, Fred told me to tell them to their face--the ones that were in his room yesterday, "If this happens again and you were in the room, you are FIRED on the SPOT. No question." He did not care if the other one had nothing to do with it--he wanted me to FIRE BOTH.

Me do that? Me say that? Okay...talking to the wrong person who does not like to deal with confrontation and does not like people to get upset or mad. Try to make things all hunky-dory and let people have second chances. Well...he calmed down a bit--and I told him what I would do.

So, I'm having a meeting this Saturday. I usually look VERY forward to weekends, but this one is not going to be that great to start off with . To make it fair and as easy for me as possible, I am having everyone be there. ALL MY EMPLOYEES--housekeeping, laundry and office, so no one feels picked on or threatened. So all are informed and have been WARNED that if this happens again, they will-with no doubt, BE FIRED.

I have come to realize that I have to do this. That I have to get "mean" and confront the situation instead of blowing it off--be strong. It can't happen anymore. I am a "boss" and I should not care what employees think. I guess I am just nervous because I do not want anyone to hate me. Be mad, but I am a boss, and I need to act like one. All I hope for is that after this meeting is that all the girls that are not guilty KNOW they are fine, but those who have thought about stealing money from rooms or have and haven't been noticed will reconsider and resist the action.

I am probably the easiest boss anyone could ever have. I let them call in and get the day off, be late, have pretty much whatever day off you need, give you the schedule you want...give you extra hours...just many things--and it is just a slap in the face when you help someone out, but in turn they take advantage of you and do sneaky things behind your back...We shall see what happens. I might have some get offended and quit right then and there. Or quit later. Or everything will be fixed and as I say "HUNKY-DORY"...
TO BE CONTINUED AFTER SATURDAY...

CHRISTAMS *belated...a tad bit*

Merry Christmas...
We had a fantastic Christmas week with our families. Christmas Eve my parents came in to give us our Christmas Eve gifts, PJ's...and eat some Pizza and watch a movie. It was really nice and that made it feel more like Christmas. I just couldn't really quite "feel" it this year. Not sure why, but it went too fast...

We woke up Declan about 6:45...which he doesn't wake up until 9 or 10-ish. Lucky me, I know :] But we took Goober straight to the tree, at our apartment, and I'm sure he was wondering why we were waking him up and putting him in front of all these TOYS ?? and he can now touch the presents under the tree that he has been told "NO...don't touch" for so long... ?? hahha--it was great to see him smile and just get into destroying the wrapping paper.
We then went to Kris's parents a little after 7. We waited for Kalab and Kym...and then started opening our presents from each other. I got a lot, Kris, Declan too.
I was just really excited for this day to get see what Declan would do. He had fun. Doesn't know what's going on quite yet...but he'll get there sooner than I want. We also took my fantastic Cocoa maker. It's a Hot chocolate maker...kind of like a coffee maker--but Hot chocolate. You put milk or water in it and then Chocolate mix and it spins it really fast for like 10 minutes and heats it up at the same time. TALK ABOUT CHOCOLATE HEAVEN :]
We had a wonderful, delicious, yummy Christmas dinner around 4...Ate too much of coarse. Later on that day my mom called me all huffy and breathing really weird. It's the breathing that you can just tell that's something is REALLY wrong. She said that my dad has been at a house that has been on fire, putting it out... and went to go check on my grandpa Ellsworth, my dad's-dad... He found him unconscious in the snow face down. He was rushed to the hospital. Later on I found out that he was okay. Got a little frost bit on his feet and other little spots. I guess he was going to go check on the propane and was going off his porch and just fell straight down; which lead to a broken/really bloody nose. He then dragged himself across the yard, in the snow, by his vehicle. He lost his slippers in the process--no socks...and stopped there on the pavement/dirt. He did this around THREE and my dad went and found him at SEVEN. So...but he's doing well. Tough Grandpa. Getting physical therapy and just getting taken care of right now...but all is well...
The next day we went to my parents. We spent the day eating. Opened presents a little later *got tons of what I wanted!!! Camera, video camera, quilt, necklace, clothes...etc.* We played ROCK BAND 2!!! Love it!!! It's so fun. It gets everyone into it...and anyone can do it. Either the drums, singing, or two guitars. It really is a great fun family/friend game I think...
I am grateful for both sides of family. They spoil all of us tremendously. I am very lucky to have the families that I have been blessed with...they are so giving and so fun!!!
Here are plenty of pictures...of both days. Enjoy...Loves Puzzles...Maybe too much....
Grandma gave Declan a HIPPO... :]

HUNGRY HIPPO...you ride it and it scoops up blocks on the floor. I can teach him how to pick up and be clean. He'll be MONK in no time :]

My BabY's 1!!!!

So...My baby is 1!!!!

What a lucky mom I am to have such a sweet baby boy in my life!!! We had quite a few family members over. It was really fun. Kris and I put in a new wood floor in the Kitchen and finished it the day of the party...November 1st. It looks really good :]

Then I decorated the kitchen table and living room with streamers and balloons. I highly recommend "Birthday in a Box"...they have a website that you get so much for a theme of whatever you want in a box--good price too. It's great. I think I'll do this every year... I did the Jungle Theme of coarse. Here are some pictures of the day:

The Awesome Cake!!! I LOVED IT...Thanks Mom...

Table Decor :]...notice the new floor :]
First grab at the cake...we ate and had a BBQ...played around. Talked...and then cake-time. He was quite tired because he didn't take a nap the whole day, but he enjoyed it for as tired as he was...

and ate quite a bit that day too :]

Smiles even when stuffing his face...

Declan got so many presents...well, toys. I do not think he needs anymore for quite awhile :] No Room :]

His sword that daddy got him...kept whacking people with it and then would laugh...such a turd--cute one though...

This is him actually on his Birthday, November 2nd, after church eating his lunch...gave me quite a perfect smile...

I love my baby boy...he is wonderful. I just couldn't help but stare at him all day and kept saying to myself, "One...Really?" It hit me pretty hard this last weekend of last year and all the trials. He is such an example to me and made me appreciate life and family more....While singing "Happy Birthday" to him...I could only sing the first "Happy Birthday to you..." and then I started tearing up and stopped or I was going to bawl. I don't know if anyone noticed. I tried to hide it and put my head down. I am a boob, but I can't help but cry when something this precious has touch my life in so many ways...

MOMMY AND DADDY LOVE YOU MR. GOOBER!!!!

HaPpy HallOwEEn

We had such a blast this year...after taking Declan to his grandparents, Mullins's, and the next door neighbors house. We went inside for a bit and we kind of got bored and Kris kept on saying that he wanted to scare some kids. Well, WE DID!! Kris, me, Becky, Rachel, Jon, Kalab and Kym all dressed up and went around on the streets hiding in bushes and scarying kids. Gotta say...it was pretty fun and made it feel like we were in High School.
We started scarying kids at Kris's parents house, but then we saw up the street how many kids were up there so we went up that way. We then ended up going to Mike Locke's house and hiding at his house. Kris scared this girl really good. She was dressed as a Fairy...frolicking and skipping and Kris came up behind her after getting candy at the door and she freaked and ran...and screamed while running, "You scared me really bad..."
We then started to hang out by the side walk by the bushes. Kris was at one corner, Kalab in the middle and Jon in a truck that was parked on the curb by the side walk that everyone was walking by.While us girls were just laying down on the grass hiding. Well, a mom and a bunch of Middle School kids came up and Jon popped out of the truck banging the side making more loud noises. It even scared the mom. It was so funny to watched...they started laughing afterwards, but man did they all scream and jump. We are probably going to make this a tradition as long as the weather cooperates. It was great!! Declan was such a cute little Giraffe. Thank you to all of those who commented and emailed me :] Giraffe got quite a bit of votes...and it seemed to fit him perfectly :] Here's some pictures of the night...
